OMG, You’re All Grown Up – Part 3

As the sun was setting, Lupus was ready to head home. After his time at HAI office, Lupus decided to hang out with some of his friends in the afternoon. He wanted to experience wearing his school uniform for the last time throughout the day.

Meanwhile, Mami and Lulu were anxiously waiting at home. Mami was worried that Lupus wouldn’t pass his exams. And Lulu had been promised a treat if Lupus passed. Lulu hadn’t eaten all day, convinced that Lupus would definitely pass. It wasn’t because Lupus was smart, but it just seemed strange for a kid nowadays not to graduate from high school. Most of them do. Lulu, who was already in the third grade, didn’t want to study hard anymore. She was taking it easy because she was sure she would pass.

“Will Lupus pass, Lu?” Mami asked.

“He will, Mi. Definitely.”

“Why hasn’t he come home yet, then?”

“He’s probably hanging out at Ancol.”

“What for?”

“If he’s not swimming, then he’s fishing.”

“Why would he celebrate passing by fishing?”

“People hang out at Ancol, Mi. They drive around in cars to let everyone know that Lupus passed. And later, if Lulu passes, she’ll do the same.”

“Where will she go?”

“She’ll just hang out in her room.”

Mami suddenly saw a shadow at the front window. Lupus? Mami called out.

No response. Mami slowly opened the window. Lupus always liked to surprise her. It must be Lupus, she guessed.

“Pus, come in! Stop hiding. I can’t wait to congratulate you, Pus.”

Still no answer.

“Puuus…”

Quietly, Mami reached for the broom handle. When she’s angry, Mami can be daring.

“If you don’t want to come in, I’ll hit you with this! Come on, come in!” Mami threatened.

The shadow behind the window started to speak.

“Come in!”

A cough was heard.

“Oh, don’t pretend to cough. Mami opened the window to hit Lupus on the head, but the shadow wasn’t Lupus. It was a young man with a frightened expression.

“Hey, who are you?” Mami was surprised.

“I-I just wanted to ask, Auntie. But as soon as I was about to knock on this window, I was threatened to be hit. I changed my mind. I don’t want to be mistaken for a cat. Pus, pus… huh. I’d better ask someone else. Excuse me, Auntie.”

Lulu giggled. She found it amusing to see Mami about to hit someone with a broom handle but didn’t follow through. Even after the person left, Mami was still frozen.

The young man soon disappeared at the end of the street. In the distance, Mami caught sight of Lupus whistling. Mami didn’t want to make another mistake. She sharpened her gaze. Ah, this time it must be him for sure!

“Lu, Lupus, Lu!” Mami shouted at Lulu, who seemed to be getting weak from hunger.

Lulu approached Mami. Lupus waved his hand from a distance.

“Let’s go greet him, shall we?” Mami suggested.

“Let’s do it.”

Mami and Lulu went out onto the street. Lulu then ran towards Lupus with small, slow-motion steps. Both arms stretched out in front of her. Her run was in slow motion.

Lupus, knowing he was being welcomed, turned around and ran in slow motion, facing away from them.

Hopeless Lupus, Lulu will keep chasing after him.

But Lulu got annoyed and asked Mami to come inside. What’s up with this Lupus guy!

Meanwhile, Lupus kept running. He thought Mami and Lulu were still chasing him. When Lupus looked back, he didn’t see anyone behind him.

“Hey, where is everyone?”

Finally, Lupus turned back. Ah, why did he have to play this running game? At home, Mami and Lulu weren’t in the mood to welcome Lupus’s arrival.

“Hey, Mami, I passed, Mi,” Lupus said excitedly.

“I already know.”

“Why didn’t you congratulate me?”

“It’s your own fault. You ran away when I was about to congratulate you.”

Lupus entered the house. At the dining table, he saw Lulu looking weak.

“Hey, Lu, I passed, Lu.”

“I already know.”

“Why didn’t you congratulate me?”

“You promised to treat me if you passed. Do you think I forgot? It’s not cool to just say congratulations. Hurry up and treat me now. Treat me with anything. I can’t wait anymore, you know!”

“Lu, I spent all my money treating people at the magazine office.”

“I don’t care. The important thing is to treat me. Are you heartless enough to see your little sister faint?”

“Yes.”

“What?”
